Favourite Place

Before I moved into this house, I already had an idea of how I wanted my room to look like. My concept was minimal, bright, cozy, yet still very me and I'm so happy with how my room turned out ! I feel like this room is such a huge contrast from my previous room (click here to see) haha and it's so interesting to see how my style and tastes evolve as I grow older.

So here it is, my room tour !

When you first open the door and step in, this is what you'll see :

My room isn't big at all, but to me it's the perfect size.

The two bags next to my mirror are my most used backpacks, the grey one I carry with me when I'm going to work, and the black one is my uni backpack.
Carrying backpacks are soo much more practical than carrying handbags, I swear. Try it.

My happy place : bed

Not happy with the amount of pillows I have yet, I'm planning to get more throw pillows that'll make the bed look infinity times more cozy.
The throw blanket is from Home's Harmony, sheets are from IKEA, and my comfy as hell duvet is from IKEA too.

This is my built in wardrobe that I stuff not just clothes inside, but bags, toiletries, makeup, and other things.

I still colour coordinate my clothes hehe
(also, only going to show you this side of my wardrobe because the other two are pretty messy haha)

I still store my headscarves the same way.

Desk. You guys have probably seen this space on my blog a number of times but fun fact :
I don't just do assignments / use the computer / write stuff here, but it's also where I do my makeup !
It's part study area, part vanity haha.

This is what I mean when I say I do my make up here, all I do is take out my makeup storage from my wardrobe, pull the mirror close, and voila !
Study area turns into a vanity. Plus lighting is really good.

Right next to my desk is my book shelf. I try to keep it as clutter free as possible.

Got these prints from one of the conferences I went to :

My bathroom is on the left side of my study area.

Bed side table :

I always need to have a bottle of plain water in my room. Some nights I just wake up and feel like my throat is extremely dry, in the mornings the first thing I do is take a sip of water, and throughout the day I get thirsty.. so having a water bottle in my room saves me from taking multiple trips to the kitchen just to get water.

The polka dotted flask and little ornament next to it are from Irfan. Sometimes I make hot tea and I use that flask, but when I don't, I use it as deco because it's so cute haha. The air-con and fan remotes are permanently there on my bedside table too even though they have their own holders on the wall haha. It's just convenient to have them there.

One of my favourite things in my room is definitely my big mirror.

When my curtains are closed during the day, my room is still bright but there's a warmer tint to it which I absolutely adore.

And at night, this is what my room looks like :

I do have ceiling lights but I barely switch them on unless I have to because I much prefer having my lamps switched on. They just give my room a nicer and cosier ambience.

In my old room if you noticed, I used to have so many other books on the shelf, but I don't anymore haha and no I didn't throw them away or anything (my books are so precious) ! It's just that my family has shelves outside my room so I took the liberty of filling them up with my books too. Next to the shelves are my step dad's lego collection, he built all of those ! My mum mostly does her work here at home.

That's it for my room tour !  Oh and in case anyone's wondering,
My furniture are mostly from IKEA. Bed, mirrors, shelf, lamps.. everything lah haha.

Hope you guys like my room ! x

  6. this post is everything :DD i got so excited seeing a new post from you. but your room is so so clean, like so organised with minimal clutter of items (i'm an architecture student and i have the biggest problem with keeping my items in the room minimal! hahaha) i like how you got the right angle to portray your room as something from a lifestyle magazine despite you mentioning it isn't big :) hope to see more posts from you Izza!

    1. Thank you so much ! And yesss backpacks are so easy. I'm not sure what brands are good for backpacks to be honest, but the one I'm currently using now is from Converse and I bought it from ZALORA. It's holding up pretty well, think I've used it for over a year. But yeah, I'm sure any brand is fine ! :)
