Bright Lights

I've been putting off blogging for a while now, I just never made time for it until today because September was such an eventful month for me. For starters, I'm 2 weeks into my 2nd year of degree and I.... am dying. Okay, that was me exaggerating. I'm not dying yet, but my stress level is going through the roof. Throughout my diploma years, I've only had 5 subjects per semester at most, but this time, I have SEVEN and it's pretty overwhelming to say the least. The maximum number of credit hours you can take in MSU for a long semester is 18,
and that's where I am. 18 credit hours.  I can't imagine how crazy submission weeks are going to be. *cries*

Uni craziness aside, I finally got to peel off the P stickers I had on the front and back of my car ! Yup, my 2 years are up, and I'm a full licensed driver now hahaha. It's such a small thing to be happy about, but I feel like it deserves to be on the blog, because of this post. It was my first blog post ever after making my blog public and I was typing that while waiting  for my turn to do the Jalan Raya bit of the test. How. Time. Flies. Don't wanna cry over spilt milk, but I kind of regret deleting all of my posts before that. I think I wanted a fresh start so much, that I just deleted 5+ years worth of blog posts like it was nothing... but today I realise how nice (but cringe-y lol) it'd be to read all of them back and see myself grow throughout the years. Especially posts about school, and holidays, and concerts, and prom, and first-times, and all my rants about the world haha. But it's okay, I'm still growing up. Still have lots to learn, still have a lot of 'best days of my life' that I haven't gone through yet. InsyaAllah. Excited to see what the future holds for me, I just gotta have faith in His plans and pray for the best.
...and also pray that Irfan is in my future and that we'll grow old + happy together too hahahaha. Amin !

Went to Light Sensation a few weeks back with Irfan, Mateen, and Mel. Sadly, it didn't really meet my expectations because I guess I was hoping for a light show or maybe more different coloured lights ?! But it was just the field of white LED roses that was impressive. It looked like a bed of stars on the ground, and it was really pretty. The four of us went there, had kuey teow from a food truck, and walked around and took photos.

Mat and Mel

Oh there was also this 'watch tower that we climbed up a freaking high flight of stairs for in hopes to be able to get a nice view of the LED lights from above :

But when we got up there.. this was the view we got :

What. The. F-

You really can't see anything from up there. Like, why even call it a watch tower honestly ?!
The climb up the stairs wasn't worth it at all haha. It was just dark, with colourful lights, the view was meh.

We just look happy here. Secretly disappointed deep inside haha.

The day after we went to Light Sensation, it was my best friend Tania's farewell surprise dinner at The Bee.
I didn't get to stay long because I had to go home, so I was MIA in all the group photos.

Card giving ceremony hahah

Not in this photo but I wanted to have this on my blog anyway because it's so funny.
Count on Mateen to take senget pics man hahaha.

And then the day after that, was Mon's open house.

#1717

Tudung was so.. off. But only decent photo I have of Mel and I !

Yeah, I basically saw Irfan, Mateen, and Mel three days in a row.
Longest double date streak if you ask me haha.

Shortest but the cutest

Took so many photos of the boys :

The one in blue

Told them to do something different. This one was pretty okay :

.. This one is so fake hahaha :

Love the colourssss.

Made Aadil and Mel take a photo together because colour coordination makes me happy.

Irfan turned 21 recently (his birthday is exactly 2 weeks away from mine), and I had dinner with his family and friends at Mazzo, Publika. The restaurant is owned by their family friend,
so it was really nice how they made it special for Irfan. They even printed out a customised menu for the occasion ! SO CUTE.

Look at the time section hahahahaha

'8.00PM - until Irfan say(s) "Done"

LOL

The food was amaaaaazing. The restaurant is a fusion of Korean, Japanese, and Italian dishes. I wish I had taken pictures of the food,
but I was too busy enjoying them that I completely forgot.

Loved this cake I got for Irfan. Super last minute, and the stress I went through to find a place that would accept a last minute cake order was just.. crazy. Plus I had to pick up the cake, and drive it home and to Publika myself. I put a seatbelt over the cake box but I was still so scared the cake might get ruined if I suddenly brake or corner too hard. But it survived the drive !

I didn't have time to buy candles so I asked Mateen to get some, and he got the number '21'. We were so excited about it, but when the cake came out and we sang happy birthday, the candles on the cake weren't the ones Mateen bought..... so I just looked at Mateen and Mateen looked at me like 'omg what happened to our candles'.
I guess the waitresses forgot about them, but it's okay haha.

Kinda regret not having more of the cake. I honestly loved it.

Obviously, a lot more excited about the cakes than the birthday boy haha.

On another note, my brother graduated from secondary school ! The school had their graduation at MSU, and I had classes from 8AM
so I didn't bother dressing up nicely to take graduation pictures haha.

September was pretty good

    1. Hi ! Oh no it's not personal pun, and yup I was under ptptn for my diploma. I understand where you're coming from, because I took pt for the same reason too. It's quite hard now because mara isn't giving out loans anymore and scholarships are hard to find, so if ptptn is your only option just go for it and make sure you do well for your degree. Because if you get above 3.8 CGPA by the end of your degree, you can apply for a loan scholarship under ptptn and you won't have to pay a single sen. But if you don't get that scholarship it's okay too, as long as you consistently pay back the debt (if not your name will be blacklisted and you won't even get to travel overseas because your name is blocked in the immigration, I've seen this happen) and try to pay off the debt as quickly as possible to avoid high interest rates. I think if you can finish paying under 5 years, there won't be any interest imposed but I'm not quite sure about that.

I think it's fine that you want to take ptptn, just remember what I told you about paying back and everything should be fine ! The economy is pretty crappy right now so for average people like us, of course we wouldn't want to burden our parents. Also look into scholarships in case you might be eligible, or look for private unis that offer discounts / rebates if you have good results for foundation (i know KDU has discounts for people who do well for diploma / foundation / pre-u ). Good luck ! x

  6. This may be out of topic.......what did you get for business law?? I be it's an A. I SCREWED UP MY TEST JN. BUT I WANNA GET ATLEAST A-. I wish my lecturer give the students tips or opened book for final exam. Haih.

    1. Haha yeah an A. Relaaaax, I screw up most of my tests but just make sure you score for other assessments. I think it's normal for law lecturers to not give out tips.. I've had 3 law lecturers so far and none of them gave specific tips for exams. They just stress on what's important during class, so you gotta focus ! Good luck xx

  7. Hye Izza, I was from UiTM and I'm planning to further degree in private instituition. Which would you recommend, the one with good reputation + environment + nice people ? I was thinking about MMU Cyberjaya, what have you heard about it ? I love getting opinions from you thanks ! xx

    1. Hii ! I can't really say which to recommend because I've only been to one university, and I'm not sure about how the people and environment actually are in other unis, but for reputable institutions you can try look up the Malaysian higher education rankings and narrow down your choices from there ? About MMU, I only know that the MMU campus is nice cause it's still fairly new ! Education wise, I'm not quite sure how its like there. The only way to know is to go to their open days or dig more info through the students themselves. Sorry I can't be much help ! x

  8. I just started my diploma few months ago. so far, so good. But I'm pretty sure there'll be hard days coming especially when I start sem 2. Can i have few words from you how to survive diploma? because as what i know, diploma is more likely slower/relax than degree. so I'm scared I'll get too relaxed and procrastinate so bad haha

    1. Haha I'm planning to write a post on how I survived diploma ! Just take your education seriously and do your best, no matter how easy it may seem. That way you won't really get too relaxed and/or procrastinate.

  9. Izza. so.. I kinda like this guy in my class. but turned out my close friend like him too. I'm not like having a major crush omg-be-my-boyfriend or wtv. haha, but we started talking and stuff and he's being too nice to me. I takut my friend thought I'm backstabbing her since she really like this guy. I just dont want to hurt my friend's feeling and not being friends with her anymore bcs of a boy you know. so drama i know! haha what should i dooooo

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hahaha aiyo, does your friend know that you like him too ?? If you don't want the boy to come between your friendship then make sure nothing more happens, BUT if things are getting sorta serious, then you should just tell your friend what's happening. It won't be backstabbing or anything if she knows about it, and if she seems like she's not okay with it, then you know what to do - don't let it become something more !

  10. Hye Izza. I'd like to know how much should I charge for paid review or pay to make someone do it for me ? So new to this haha and hope you would help xx

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hii, uhh I'm not sure actually because I don't put a price on my posts / reviews, nor have I asked anyone to promote anything for me.. Companies / Instashops usually just get in touch with me and ask if I can do something in exchange for products, and I'll only say yes if I actually like the product they're offering. Some would pay me voluntarily, some don't, and it's really up to them haha but I don't have a price. It's up to you how much you want to charge or how much you're willing to offer I guess. x

    1. I think if they're the thin ones then why notttt, I've seen people wear like the army green kind of anorak / parka and they look nice. To invest in one is completely up to you, but see if you're actually going to get much use out of it first !

    1. I haven't applied PT for my degree yet but I'm going to in January. Thank you for the sweet compliments !! I'm planning to do a blog post about how I survived diploma haha. Just waiting to get my transcript so I can see all my results on one document. Ooh Starbucks sounds fun ! How's it like working there ? Hmm it might be tiring but I guess you could try working on weekends for a month first and see how you cope, if cannot then better not continue as it might jeopardise your grades ! I get what you mean about not having time to spend with family + bf ! But yeah, try and spend as much time with them whenever you get the chance to ! No problem about the rant lah, always fun to reply to comments ! :D

    1. InsyaAllah ! Haha I seeee, glad you're having fun working at Starbucks ! Yeah, balancing studies with work is penat, I can't lie. For example like I have an assignment due on Monday, but I'm working on Saturday and Sunday, so Friday tu I already have to rush and complete as much as I can so I don't have to spend all night trying to finish it after work on Sunday. Exhausting gila ! I'm not smart pun actually, I think I just work really hard before exams that I eventually get lucky hahah. We can be friends !!! Aiyo so sweet you think I seem like a nice person (usually ppl always think I'm bitchy because I look angry most of the time. swear its just my face tho haha). I have a number of best friends but even with them I don't share everything in my life, not because I don't think I can't trust them with secrets, it's just that some things are better kept to myself and i'm comfortable that way. Backstabbers / two-faced ppl are the worst la, glad you have a few that you can trust ! And yessss totally can relate to that. My bf is my best-est friend !! Haha
