Girl Talk Over Korean

This is my new favourite thing in my room

I've been really into decorating my new room lately, so Irfan got me this ornament from his recent trip to the UK and I was incredibly touched when he showed me what it was.
It's really special not only because it's a gift from the person that I love the most, but it's also a gift that reminds me of Allah and his 99 beautiful names & attributes.
Such a beautiful thing to be reminded of God, especially from the person you love

Anyway,  I think I have a newfound love for Mr. Dakgalbi. It's a Korean restaurant in Publika that Tania, Mars, and I had iftar at yesterday and the food was sooooo good.
I'm usually quite picky, and nowhere near adventurous when it comes to trying anything new, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked our food yesterday.

Had all the time in the world to take a flatlay pic of the food while Mars and Tania went to pray hahaha #lonely

Tania ordered for us this set that has fried rice and ramen, and she ordered rice cakes as add-ons. So the waiter sets all the ingredients on the table, and then comes and cook for us. The set was for two people, but my God, it was a lot that even 3 starving girls couldn't finish the whole thing haha. But we did pretty good tho, not much was left on the pan by the time we were too full to eat anymore. The ramen was cooked in this spicy and semi-sweet sauce, which was really sedap, but the fried rice was the winner to me. It was full of flavour and just downright yummy ! There was seaweed, and little chunks of chicken, and cheese, and the spices, and rice cakes all went so well together. Everything was spicy (rice cakes, especially) but it's the addictive kind of spicy, like you just want more and more after every bite. It's not Samyang ramen spicy (tried that a few weeks ago and I loved the taste but I couldn't finish the whole bowl because it was crazy pedas), but spicy enough that you need to drink water after every few bites (or at least that was the case for me).

"I can't do this anymore"
"Yea me too"

Spending time with my bestfriends really feels like therapy for my overall sanity. I'm not even kidding. Mars and I had this heated discussion in the car about family, boys, and what frustrates us, which then continued at the restaurant with Tania, that by the end of it I just felt relieved to be able to share and talk about those kind of things that only my bestfriends can understand. Because we just get it and we get each other.

We could be laughing about something stupid one minute, and the next we're talking about something deep like the future and feelings.
Whether it's just the 3 of us, or all 10 of us together, it's so, so, easy to talk to my bestfriends about anything, and I love that about our friendship.

To more Korean food dates !

  6. Your room seems to be coming together really well, would love to see more pictures! I'm thinking of working part-time at subway for my semester break, so I was wondering how working there was for you?

    1. Haha yes I'm so happy with it, hopefully I'll do a post of my room soon ! Oh Subway was a lot of fun, it was tiring la (but which job isn't.. especially F&B), and it's a good learning experience for me. Not just making sandwich-wise, but to see how fast food chains work and things like that. Go for it ! :)
