Little Things

Butter and Dino, mi loves.

Drove to campus with severe Monday Blues this morning, and it got worse when I couldn't find a place to park and was late to class. But little things that made my day today :

1. An indian aunty gave me 10 cents when I found myself short of money to pay for my parking ticket. It may have only been 10 cents to her, but I was so grateful. God bless you, aunty !

2. Made friends with a couple of exchange students from Portugal ; Phillipa and Anem (I have no idea how to spell their names correctly but that sounds close enough haha). In the whole of MSU, we only probably have like less than 30 international students among the thousands on campus. So I was sitting down on a bench, when these two girls came and sat next to me. They're super nice (super pretty too), and I'm glad to know that they'll be here until end of June. Hope to see them around campus more often.

3. I always refuel at the same petrol station after class so some of their workers recognise me when I come. The moment I parked and got down from my car to walk to the counter, one of the Bangladeshi workers greeted me with a really warm, sincere, smile and wave. When I got back from the counter, he was already helping me refuel. He could have helped all the other cars but he helped me. It may have just been his job to do that, but his greetings to me are always so sincere and so helpful. Bless him !! And all my other foreign worker friends I've made. I used to work at Baskin Robins, it's attached to a Petronas, and I had a foreign worker friend there named Sultan. He used to tell me about how he has a daughter and a wife waiting for him back at Bangladesh, and how excited he was to go home after he has worked here to earn enough money for them. I don't see him at that Petronas anymore, so I think he's back home with his family. The thought of that warms my heart completely. Always be nice to people, no matter what their background is.

4. It's raining. I was just saying how scorching hot it was earlier today while I was walking.
And now it's raining outside, and I'm so grateful. Alhamdulillah.

My weekend was pretty good, after class on Saturday (yes, I have classes on Saturdays now. 4 hours some more. UGH), I went out with Irfan for lunch and we watched Gods of Egypt. We had our lunch at Paddington's. I had pancakes with ice-cream and bananas, while he had waffles with chicken. Both of them tasted goooood. After our movie, we went to pick my brother up and the three of us went to McDonald's to get dinner. Worked full shift on Sunday, came back tired from all the laughing we had at work. We all weren't in the right state of mind yesterday hahaha.

Don't know why they put a pineapple slice on my pancakes.

Have a wonderful week ahead ! x

    1. Hiii ! I'm not sure if MSU has a degree in communications tho.. but MSU is alright. If I could study somewhere else, honestly I would. Lecturers can be a bit school teacher-ish (don't know if it's just my lecturers or what haha) and the management sucks but other than that all is good ! You can succeed no matter where you study as long as you put in effort. Let me know if you have anything specific that you'd like to know about MSU ! I'll try my best to answer :) xx

    2. Ah i see. Will you be pursuing you degree there? If yes, in what course eh? I think what i struggle in my current college is the students. Macam2 jenis perangai you know. Not to mention how they loveeee to cheat in exams!!! I know i know, how can the invigilators even allow that to happen kan? But yea it happens frequently. They just turn a blind eye. I just want to go to a uni that is good and has a relatively high standard. But i feel like when it comes to the students semua tempat pun ada kids yang mehh so nothing much i can do about that. Really piling on the 101 issues i have here. Sorry Izza hahahah :) xx

    3. It depends on my end result for diploma. If I end up getting a scholarship / bursary to continue in MSU, then I probably would. Planning to stick to the course I'm in (Human Capital Management / HR). Ahh I know how you feel.. Sad to say some of my classmates do that too. I don't understand what they get from cheating, dah la in uni. I mean if we were still in school and things were less serious then fine.. but we're all like 20 now so I don't get it either. Are you looking into private institutions only ? You can try Sunway Uni, I have a friend there and I can tell the standards are quite high based on all the work she has to do and make sure that she doesn't plagiarise. Haha it's ok !! Really like discussing issues here, I feel like we're all friends. Let me know your uni options ! I'm thinking (more like panicking) on where to continue my degree too. xx

    4. Well i'm currently in a private uni so i can't go to uni's such as Uitm,UM etc just cause thats how it works. Ah Sunway i totally forgot about that one! In a way i'm kind of tied with my current uni bcs i'm on a scholarship for my foundation. Which means that i HAVE to continue my degree there in order to keep the scholarship. If i decide to change uni i'll have to pay full price which will be a problem for me to deal with later hahah. I went to the edu fair last weekend. I kinda like KDU just cause it seems pretty good overall. My course is offered in the Glenmarie campus which is soooo cantik from what i've heard. I was leaning towards Notts so much even though the fees is......HAHAH. Anyway, i rlly wanted to go there until i saw the whole course and what subjects i'll be taking and such. Its nothing like what other uni's offer for comms. You learn more about cultures and politics. Just pelik la to me the modules so yeah that kinda threw me off. I wanna get into PR and maybe a little boradcasting so yeah. Where do you have in mind to go to if not MSU? :) xx

    5. I see.. Omg if I were you, I'd do whatever to keep my scholarship at all costs haha. Oh KDU Glenmarie is one of my options too ! I wanted to go to their Open Day that past two weekends but I got lazy haha. Yeah, the campus is really cantik and their fees are not that bad either. I really wanted to do my foundation and take IR in Notts after SPM but that didn't happen because the fee is way too expensive for me hahaha. My best friends go to Notts and they're taking communications there, I think they're doing really well. Plus the campus looks like its a nice and fun environment to be in. Oooh PR is cool ! My options now are limited to staying in MSU or KDU Glenmarie or BAC. Still looking around for other options but like they're all either too expensive or too far haha

    6. Heheh if we both end up going to KDU Glenmarie it'll be so funny hahahah. Maybe then i'll actually go up to you and say hi. I met you before at the popandsoap party 2.0 but shy la to say hi cause you were with your friends ahahah. If i end up changing uni's i'll defo roger you mana tahu masuk same place hahah. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to reply to my 182792 questions. Good luck in everything you do Izza! Always a pleasure reading your blog :) xx

    1. Hi ! 5/10 for me. I think the leads were incredibly good looking, but the whole movie seemed bland to me. I expected more action from it haha. Also, I'm more of a greek mythology geek rather than an Egyptian one so I found it quite interesting to learn about ancient Egyptian concepts / theories.

  5. Izza, youre taking diploma in Human Capital Management in MSU right? What does that course offer? Are you learning about business too? What do you think of the course & studying it in MSU? I'm sorry if this is personal, but can I know how much do you have to pay for the whole diploma in HCM? Sorry I ask a lot, haha I'm thinking of taking psychology/HCM in MSU & youre the only one I can think of to ask.

    1. Yup, Human Capital Management is basically Human Resource with a different name. Human Resource basically focuses of management of people, so in a company, there needs to be a HR manager / department to manage everyone in the company. The course offers a lot of management subjects, not business. I think the course is okay (wasn't my first choice, my family chose this for me). Studying in MSU is okay too, nothing special. I like the campus though. In 2014, my fees were about 24k if I'm not mistaken, but I don't know about the fees now. Prices may have lowered or gone up since then. It's okay ! I don't mind the questions at all. I suggest coming to MSU and talk to one of our counsellors, you can ask for the list of subjects for both courses and see which one you'd prefer learning more. Good luck ! :)
