Econs Field Trippin'

Warning : This post is going to be super photo heavy.

I went on a field trip to Bank Negara Malaysia's Museum and Art Gallery in their Sasana Kijang building yesterday along with my lecturer + classmates and it was for our Economics subject. The place is SO underrated, like I have never heard anyone talk about it but I really think it deserves more visitors and recognition. I had such a great time in there ! The Sasana Kijang building looks modern and futuristic on the outside, with fountains and all-glass architecture. I didn't expect it to have cool stuff to see inside because even the lobby looked boring.. it was like stepping in a very strict office building. So anyway, after that we had to sit down for a talk in the auditorium. The talk was mainly about how to be financially stable, and I gained a bit of insight from it but not much that I didn't already know. The talk took agesssssss to end that by the time we were done, we only had like an hour++ to explore the museum. Boo.

There are 4 floors in total ; G, Level 1, 2, 3. My friends and I managed to explore every floor but we sort of zoomed through everything, like we couldn't stand in one place for more than 15 seconds (and if we were, it was probably just to take a picture). Other than us and a group of students from another university, the place was dead empty. We roamed around freely, moving from one place to another. There were 7 galleries in total, but my favourite would have to be the art gallery on the highest floor. I don't consider myself artsy, nor do I know the first thing about art, but I do appreciate it's beauty and I could spend hours and hours getting lost in an art-filled museum. The top floor was my happy place.

You know what, enough words (for now). Photo spam time !

If my face were ever to be printed on a currency note :

This was in the children's gallery and there's this tunnel called 'Terowong Sejuta'. They filled  the walls up with 1,000,000 worth of ringgit notes :

Could have used all this money to sponsor my eduction instead. #oops

Edry stealing Hana's thunder.

Look at all that moneyyyyyyyyyy $$$$$

The loudest, craziest, funnest bunch in class :

The stairs we climb to get to different galleries
(there was a lift, but ain't nobody got time to wait for that)

Favourite photo I took of Hana :

Behind the scenes of taking an aesthetically-pleasing Instagram photo :

My friends 'discussing' art :

There's this cafe on the ground floor that serves nice (light) food. Tried the waffles and lasagna, both tasted good. And they weren't pricey too :

Got stuck in a jam on the way back to campus :

The BNM museum is open everyday (except for Raya Aidilfitri) from 10AM - 6PM. Entrance is freeeeeeeeeeeee ! Place is totally date-worthy, and I definitely wanna go back there and get lost in the museum with Irfan. I can imagine us having tons of fun exploring, and yknow having deep and profound (hahahaha) conversations about art + the Economy.

That was it for my Econs field trip ! I'm going camping at Sungai Congkak (heard this place is haunted, but which hutan isn't la right ?? -_- ) with my friends somewhere in the first week of February for our Psychology project. I haven't gone camping since.. 2013, so I'm quite excited to be spending a couple of days being surrounded by ~nature~. Also my friends and I are already planning to bring sooo much junk food, it's definitely going to be a food fest when the sun goes down haha.

Talk to you guys later. xx

    1. Hiii, yeah I think everybody has felt it at least once in their lives. Every family is different and I can't say how to help, but maybe you can try and talk to your dad ? Or talk to your mum, ask her if she's okay, and if she isn't then have like a family discussion. When my parents got divorce, I was 12 and I tried to understand everything but obviously, I was still a kid so I can't grasp much of the situation. Don't feel like you're a bad daughter, you feel that way because of his actions towards your mum, and you love your mum so it's understandable. I hope your family situation gets better :( xx
