Paris : Jour Un

Bonjour !
Okay, so I changed the title of my previous post from 'Paris : Part 1' to 'Paris Essentials' just because I didn't want it to be confusing and I didn't want to have to call this post 'Paris : Part Two' when I'm going to be blogging about Day 1.. so yeah haha. From this post onwards, it's going to be 'Paris : Jour Un / Deux / Trois / etc ' which translates as Paris : Day One / Two / Three / etc. Just wanted to get that out of the way before I start blogging ! I would have written this post sooner but I've been (and still am) busy with university. Good news is I'm only left with one final project to finish up, but bad news is that my finals are around the corner haha. So I still can't promise to blog often. Thank you guys for still visiting my blog though ! Your comments keep me going, and I always have fun replying them haha.

Our plane landed at Charles De Gaulle airport around 9AM and I couldn't have been more relieved to be on the ground. My butt was aching from all the hours spent on the plane. The second I step foot outside, God I was smiling so wide. It was cold !!!!! I've never been anywhere with a climate like that so I obviously felt really excited hahaha. All the other passengers that came out of the plane were probably dreading the weather, but I was enjoying every bit of it. It was like aircond everywhere, guys. It was awesome. The airport was nothing spectacular, and the line for the customs felt like it was a few kilometres long. A loooottttt of people from different countries were in the queue, and I hate crowds, and I hate queuing up but it's okay, I thought. 'I'm in Paris now and that's all that matters.' We got our luggages and then we had to wait for a while for our taxi to arrive. Praise the Lord for free WiFi.

Our taxi arrived, and again, I got excited over the fact that the cars drive on the right side of the road. Meaning the steering wheels were on the left ! (I am easily amused, if you can't already tell hahaha). We reached our apartment building at 11, and we promised to meet the owner at 12 so we killed time by having drinks at Le Bidule.

Fun fact : A lot of the chairs at cafès in Paris are all facing the road instead of each other. I've concluded from this that Parisians love people watching.
(I love people watching too, so am I considered Parisian yet ? Lol jokes hahaha)

I had hot chocolate, Mama had a latte and my brother had tea. It was drizzling, and it was getting colder. The situation of me drinking hot chocolate in gloomy Paris alone felt like a movie scene already and this was only the beginning of my trip. I smiled to myself thinking what the rest of my days will look like over here. I'm finally in Paris !

The buildings in Paris are mostly like this. No sky scrappers at all ! The magnificent Eiffel Tower stands tall in the sky because all the other buildings are built quite low.

We got settled in our apartment after that, made sure we got our WiFi connections and knew how to work the television and then Zicky and I decided to go explore the neighbourhood a bit more. We couldn't wait any longer hahaha.

We went from one street to another, exploring most of the alleyways around where we lived. That was also when we discovered where the supermarket, halal butchery and kebab shops were. After that, we went back to our apartment, had some food cause we were starving and the three of us kind of just relaxed and chilled for the rest of the day. Paris is 6 hours behind Malaysian time, and we were tired from the plane ride so the three of us fell asleep quite early and found ourselves waking up at wee hours of the morning haha.

That was it for the first day ! Nothing much, but worth blogging about anyway. I wanna remember it all ! Jour Deux is going to be a loooong post. It was the day I spammed like.. 40 pictures on Instagram hahaha. Crazy. So yeah, I have tons of pictures to go through and I need to filter the ones that are going to be on my blog. I'll update as soon as I can.
Thanks for reading ! x

    1. Hi ! Haha I know right, I was shocked too ! Thank you so much <3 The heels are okay if I wear them for a couple of hours, but after that or if I walk a lot in them, they hurt. My feet even got blisters after I wore them for hours during KLFW. Sending back love ! xx

  10. Salam izza..are replica grade products okay?? Just asking coz sumtimes online sells high grade replica stuff, claiming to be high quality and everything..what attracts me its because of the cheaper price laa but quAlity idk..whats ur opinion izza??:)

    1. Wasalam ! I think replica products are disrespectful to the ones that are original :( To me, if bags are inspired (like same shape, same kind of material all that), it's fine. But when they put the name or the logo of the brand when it's not original, it automatically makes it fake, and that's when I cringe. It's gonna feel so much better if you save up and get the original one, and plus the real thing is going to be really good quality and it'll last you for years. Also, you don't have to worry about going out and feeling scared if anyone might notice that your handbag is not authentic (it's really easy to differentiate original vs fake). Buying replicas that claim to be super high grade or copy original and all that, can seem tempting but at the end of the day it's still not the real thing..

This is no offence to people that do like / buy replica bags ! Just my opinion about this haha. However, I think it's more worth it to buy nice bags from H&M or Topshop or Forever 21 (that are probably the same price as replicas) than buying non-authentic bags online. Bags from those shops can be super nice, plus they always take inspiration from designer bags. xx
