Independent

This past week has been a total roller coaster for me, I was stressed out and moody beyond words because I felt like everything was against me and I was overwhelmed by the amount of things I had to deal with + I was (still am) sick but I'm glad it's all over now. On a much brighter note, I think my lecturer loved my final project and I worked really, really hard on it so that's great. My final project was about Lego and how the company operates from A - Z. From designing, to how they manufacture them, to how they meet customer demands and maintain quality.. The whole project was just really interesting to me because Lego was a big part of our (my brother and I) childhood. We had boxes and boxes full of Lego, and everyday we'd just build everything together, so to know how it's produced from scratch is just.. wow. Out of all the subjects I took this semester, I found Operations Management to be the toughest, but it ended up being the subject I liked the most anyway. I blame it on my extreme curiosity to know how everything works haha.

I've also been spending time with my friends, which is good because I don't usually go out just to hang out. I had coffee milkshakes and munched on Quaker chewy granola bars (I was obsessed with them back in form 4/5) with Nabel and Jane a couple weeks ago, and yesterday I went out on a dessert date with 3 of my best friends ; Farah, Sha and Aina. We tried the Harajucube in Empire Damansara, and it was so good ! If you like sweet stuff, you should definitely try their toasts. The portion is huge, the four of us shared two of them.
I think one was Toffee Banana and the other one was Strawberries somethingsomething.

Part-time job wise, it's been great ! Nobody knows where I work except for my friends and family haha (and I don't plan on mentioning where I work here on my blog anytime soon). The awesome part about work is that my old best friend from my CBN 2 primary school days ; Batrisyia works there too. We were partners in crime in school : Rumah Biru captains, cheerleading captains, we were in choral speaking / drama together, we were prefects.  It was always Batri and Izza everywhere la hahaha. Reminiscing our 'glory days' (more like memalukan days to be honest haha) together always ends up in fits of laughter and 'Omg I can't believe we did that' remarks lol.

Highlight of my day at work today was definitely having brunch with Irfan. It was short because my break is only for an hour, but I had such a lovely time with him nonetheless. I get really busy throughout the week, so we don't talk much but when we meet for little dates like these and just sit down and talk (over good food) that's when we end up telling each other stories and blurting out anything and everything haha. I love spending time with him like that. Good quality time is definitely time spent with your loved ones. #preachit.

But anyway, when I wanted to go home from work today, I couldn't because some stupid car double parked behind me and that just ruined my mood completely. But these two strangers who worked in a restaurant near my car were so so nice and helpful, they wrote down the car's plate number and went asking around every shop / cafe / restaurant along the street to see if it was anybody's car and tell them that they should move it. I mean it was so sweet of them to help me like that, I was so close to breaking down because I really wanted to go home and it was starting to rain heavily. So they managed to find the guy, and he moved his car. I didn't even get to thank the two Indian workers that helped me just now because everything was in a rush, but I hope I get to see them tomorrow to say thank you. They put in so much effort to help and they didn't even know me. Heck that wasn't even a muslim restaurant, it was practically a bar and they helped me. God, I am so grateful that there are still kind people out there. I couldn't even depend on people I knew just now, okay. At the end of the day, I depend on myself, and when I'm lucky, I get strangers to help me. But independence has always been my forte. I'm perfectly capable of being on my own and doing things on my own, for my own benefit, so that's nothing new. It's just nice to have someone to depend on when life gets a little rough.

That's it for this little life update slash rant. I was studying but then I felt like I needed to blog before I went crazy haha.
Can't wait to finish finals next week so I can blog agaaaaaaain. But until then, enjoy this Justin Bieber video.
Batri showed me this just now and I loved it !! Can't believe I've never watched this before hahaha.

(and for the record, Bieber Fever is real guys, I've had it since 2009).

  5. Hi izza! Is the foods in Harajucube halal-certified?

    1. Hi, I don't remember seeing a halal cert anywhere (so bad that I didn't check), but if you go in there just for the desserts, it should be okay. It's just bread and honey, and toppings like fruits and ice cream :)

  7. Izza duckscarves tie back inner tu best tak? What are the pros n cons? Hope u can reply asap hehe

    1. Boleh la, after I pakai twice it's not as stretchy anymore and dia sort of kembang.. but because of the tie back, I can still use it la sebab can ikat dekat belakang tu to make it tight. Pros is definitely the material !! It is cooling and I don't feel hot or stuffy wearing it, cons is that it can move jugak throughout the day if your hair is quite licin haha.

  8. Izza since u ada experience in working kan. Ive been thinking of getting a job after I habis my finals. Sbb nafsu I lately makin menjadi jadi hahahaha nak iphone 6s la, pastu I ni gila makeup tsk tsk. But my problem is, I cannot stand for too long or staying under the heat. I'll literally pass out. So can you recommend me kerja apa yg sesuai? Im in a dilemma rn.

    1. Oh that's good that you're thinking of getting a job haha. I know how you feel ! I pun nak macam macam haha. Try looking for a boutique nearby your house yang not so many people go to, usually that one you just jaga kedai and sit at the cashier most of the time. Stay away from F&B and department stores, that one confirm cannot sit much. You can try looking for desk receptionist also, I'm not sure where but if there's a building nearby your place that has a receptionist desk in the lobby, you can try asking.

    2. Thank you so much for the recommendation izza! Btw lets say if the boutique/stores tak banyak org visit, do we still get our pay? Since we tak layan sgt org and all haha O.o

    3. No problem ! They would usually pay you by hour, or if not that put they set how much you get monthly. So you get paid no matter what, some shops also pay by basic + commission basis. For an example let's say, I have a boutique, so every month my employee's basic pay is rm700, but they get 10% of the profit from every baju they sell. So yeah, you need to ask them about the payment and make sure they explain it really clearly to you. I pernah work and in the end they didn't end up paying what they were supposed to zzz.
