Unconscious Bias

No, this is not a video about the hijab / headscarf / tudung or Islamic values haha (see, that's you being unconsciously biased already). It's a talk about the unconscious bias we all have in ourselves, how we unconsciously assume things about people and how we can change that and celebrate diversity while looking past our unconscious judgements instead.

I've been listening to TED talks for the past hour, procrastinating my dinner time because I'm too lazy to eat but oh well haha. Promise I'll eat after I finish this post ! I'm just realllllllyyyyyy tired. Like crazy, I've-never-been-this-tired-from-work-before kind of tired.

"Why are you so tired, Izza ?"

WELL. I was working the evening shift yesterday from 3 to 11. But we (my friends at work and I) had to stay there until 1AM to bake bread for the next morning because we had to make platters consisting of around 200 sandwiches for a catering order (yeah, Subway does catering). So I got back at 1, couldn't sleep until about 2-ish, and I had to get up 2 hours later to be at work by 5AM to finish the platters by 10. Did the sandwiches, finished everything by 10 but I still had to stay until 5 because there wasn't enough staff.

So that's 12 hours of working with only 2 hours of sleep after 8 hours of work. MY GOD.
I was practically on zombie-mode the whole day and nothing was making sense in my head ; I just wanted to go home and sleep.

Got home, passed out, and here I am ; listening to TED talks, typing out a blog post. I feel lethargic and the thought of having to be at work by 7 tomorrow is just.. haih. But it's okay, this is all going to be worth it once I get my $$$ haha. No better feeling than earning and spending your own money !

Here's a photo of Syukor hijacking my phone to take a selfie last night :

Hope your weekend isn't as hectic and tiring as mine ! x

    1. The one in my neighbourhood. TED is short for Technology, Entertainment, Design. TED talks are conferences they host all around the world for inspiring, idealistic speakers, you can watch their videos on YouTube :)

    1. Hi ! Oh its ok, we're still together don't worry hahaha. It's just that I choose not to publicise my relationship too much on here ! I have yet to finish a new post with him in it cause we went out for lunch last week, so yeah that'll be up soon. We still mean the world to each other hehe
