May Favourites

Before I start, I'd like to let you guys know that I've set up a F.A.Q page on my blog to answer the frequent questions I keep getting, like ; how I wear my tudung, describing dUCk scarves materials, etc. I've gotten tired (even irritated) to keep having to answer the same thing over and over again, so please read up my F.A.Q page before leaving me questions in my comments. Future comments asking me questions that I've already answered in my F.A.Q page will be published, but not entertained. I really don't have the time anymore to keep answering the same questions guys, sorry !

This post has been in my drafts for almost a week now, but it's my day off from work today so I should probably finish this up before July comes lol. It was unbelievable how much I had going in May ; Weddings, fashion show, anniversary, meeting deadlines, orphanage visit, finals.. Definitely my busiest month in 2015 so far. But I'm really happy that it's June now though, because that means we have only a couple weeks left until Ramadhan, and I love the fasting month. Even more than Syawal to be honest. I love how everyone strives to be nearer to Allah the whole month and how the whole atmosphere is just peaceful and lovely. Oh and this is random but I think 9 is my number. Like totally my number.  My name starts with an I = 9th letter in the alphabet. I was also born on the 9th of September (09/09), and my favourite month in the Islamic calendar is also the 9th month of the year = Ramadhan. I should get a necklace with the number 9 on it la seriously hahaha. Okay, I'm getting out of topic. On with the favourites !

1. Zalora (www.zalora.com.my

I online shop a lot. Some people think shopping online sucks, you can't try on, you can't touch it, etc, etc. But I think it's brilliant how we can get things online without even leaving the house. No need to dress up, no need to look for parking, no need to physically look for stuff in stores and get frustrated when we can't find what we're looking for... With online shopping, I can wake up in the morning and still be in my baju tidur, grab my laptop / phone and buy things straight from the comfort of my bed. (The only con to shopping online is of course the waiting, but like a couple of days isn't that bad).

Shopping on Zalora is such a breeze ! I love that they have a variety of brands, and their customer service is A+. Also I need to mention how incredibly impressed I am by their own brand (they use the name Zalora) as well. Basic wardrobe essentials at an affordable price ?? Totally up my alley. Oh, and with every purchase you make, you also get a return form so that you can return / exchange things if they aren't the right size or if you don't like them, for free ! So far I haven't had any problems with the sizings or anything, but it's great to have an option to return items if I do need to exchange something.

If you're planning to shop on Zalora anytime soon, use the voucher code : ZBAPQ28S to get 15% off your checkout total. No minimum purchase required too ! (That means you can get something for like 20 ringgit and still get a discount if you use the code haha)

2. Yogi Skin DeTox Tea

If these things look familiar to you, it's probably because you've seen them in my Pop Box blog post. A lot of the stuff I got from May's Pop Box ended up being my favourites of the month and this tea is definitely one of them. I've never had anything 'detox' in my life and I've never tried teas apart from the usual English Breakfast / Green Tea / Chamomile (I'm not an avid tea drinker, though I like tea). This Skin DeTox tea by Yogi smells amazing. It has a floral scent to it, and I was kinda scared to drink it at first cause it smells too nice (almost like perfume) but the taste is actually pretty good. Its green tea with fragrant rose petal and hibiscus in them, I don't need to add sugar and I can steep the tea for as long as I want (it won't taste bitter cause it's green tea). The tea claims to support a 'healthy glow', and I drink it probably once in two to three days but I don't see any major differences in my complexion. I do look a bit more radiant, so I guess they live up to their 'healthy glow' claim but a part from that nothing much or maybe it's just my skin haha. But yeah, I'm dying to try more teas now. They taste great, they make me feel good, and they're healthy !

3. Coffee Sugar Scrub by Instagram account : @scrubssecret

I never understood the coffee scrub hype until I got to try it myself. And damn, I wish I would have tried it sooner. The coffee scrub I got in my Pop Box last month is wonderful. It's handmade coffee scrub with essential oils. and the ingredients include : Coffee, Olive Oil, Virgin Coconut Oil, Sugar and Jojoba Oil and it leaves my skin freaking soft after I use it. Like unbelievably soft. I think it's because of the oils inside. It's such a good, natural exfoliant and you only need a little bit at a time, so a jar of this goes a loooong way.

3. Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Hand + Body Lotion

Slather this all over my body after using the coffee scrub = I get the skin of a goddess // baby's butt.

4. Handmade soap by The Soap Fable, Instagram account : @thesoapfable

Also got this in the May Pop Box, I would normally choose shower cream / gels over bar soaps, but this one is an exception ! I got the marble edition soap from the Soap Fable, and it's really pretty ! The fact that it's homemade makes me feel like I'm using something from Lush. It smells lovely and I have no idea what they put inside the soap but as it gets thinner little black bead looking exfoliants come out and voila = soap and exfoliant in one. It gets thin pretty quickly tho, but it was nice while it lasted !

5. Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast Lipbalm

This lipbalm is heaven-sent. It smells freaking delicious, it tastes nice, it has SPF and it moisturises lips like crazy. This is probably the best lip balm I've tried so far (and I've tried A LOT of lip balms). I'm so getting another tube of this when this one runs out.

For those of you interested to get any of the products above, either go to their respective Instagram accounts or order individual items through @thepop.box on Instagram.
Or better yet, order a pop box straight and discover new products with me next time hehe.

5. Music

i. Banks

Banks' Goddess Album has been on repeat in my car for the past month. I didn't know who she was last year when she came to Malaysia to perform at the Good Vibes Festival and I'm so upset that I wasn't there. Would have loved to watch her live. Personal favourites from the album : Goddess, You Should Know Where I'm Coming From, Beggin For Thread and Someone New

ii. Astrid Smeplass

Another recent discovery that I've been suuuuper obsessed with is Astrid. Her voice is just.. ugh. Listen for yourselves.

I think the lyrics to this song are stupid af, and I always get irritated when it plays on the radio. But Astrid and Julie's version of this is too good not to share :

And with that, I conclude my favourites for the month of May !
Hope you guys are doing well and I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately, will try to update more frequently. x
