Shamine x Izwan Part II

Kak Long's wedding reception happened on Saturday at Shangri-La Hotel and I had the best time being surrounded by family. The wedding started at 8PM but all of us had to be there by 2 for the rehearsals.

We had rooms on different floors and that led us to going up and down the lifts to either look for someone or get something from that room or did our make up in another room. Everyone was all over the building ! After rehearsing, (all we had to do was walk in front of kak long as she makes her grand entrance into the hall with my uncle ; Papa Jimmy). Hannah and I got our make up done 4 hours before the actual event and we quickly changed into our outfits and took a few pictures before going down to the ballroom.

So bummed that we didn't get a lot of pictures outdoors with our other cousins !! They were getting their make up done when we took all of these photos. SIGH.

Pre-wedding shots.

We didn't get to take pictures during the reception cause all of us were busy. 800 guests, man. My cousins and I also had to sneak back up to our rooms countless of times for different things while everything was happening haha. But, after everything ended, we FINALLY took family photos on the pelamin and this was about 12.30AM. Craaaaazy.

Sad Aunty Biza and Uncle Jaya didn't wear pink if not this would have been perfect. Kak Long's parents are in red.

And then the real photo shoot begins.

You can't sit with us.

Can't forget our photobooth strips !

Left : Mothers & Daughters
Right : Us girls. MIA the bride !

Left : Zicky and I with papa and our step mum !
Right : Girls. MIA the Shanaz sisters.

We all slept over the hotel that night. Hannah and I shared room 0826 together but we didn't sleep until like 5AM ? After the whole thing we all went to Kak Nisha & the twins' room first cause Hannah and I didn't think there was going to be an extra room. So after removing our makeup and changing into our PJs the boys and Kak Keyna + Kak Sue came up and told Hannah and I that we could have room 0826. Left our stuff there and then left the room so housekeeping could clean the room a little bit. We went up to another room, hung out while they ordered McD. I was on the phone with Irfan the whole time, and I was getting tired so I went down to my room first. I thought of sleeping but I'm too much of a wuss to sleep in a hotel room alone hahaha. So I ended up just being on the phone with Irfan until Hannah came back to the room around 5 with a large Sprite, fries and a Spicy McChicken Deluxe for me. Hannah fell asleep shortly after that while I ate. I wasn't alone anymore so I let Irfan go to sleep too. It's been a while since we had a really long phone call like that and I think we fell in love with each other alllllll over again that night. The phone call wasn't full on lovey dovey from the start though, we were arguing half of the time but we ended the call on a really happy note.

The next morning, initially we wanted to wake up at 8 for breakfast but of course that didn't happen and I woke up thanks to Kak Nisha's phone call telling me everyone was already downstairs. Brushed my teeth, changed, woke Hannah and we went down. I love love love loveeeee breakfast buffets. I think it's the best part (besides the comfy beds) about hotel stays. I started off with pastries, no surprise since my I have a huge appetite for sweet things. And also, fruits dipped in milk and white chocolate fondue. Rule 1 of eating fondue : NEVER WEAR WHITE PANTS.

I got chocolate all over my white pants. Not pretty, guys. I shamelessly walked in for another round of food, this time sausages and hash browns. And then I went straight up to my room, to clean up the mess that are my pants. I was surprised that water and the bar soap by the sink and a whole lot of scrubbing actually did the job of removing the chocolate stains ! It was hard work. I even had to use the disposable toothbrush to scrub my pants. After that I used the hairdryer to blow dry my pants, it took sooooooo looooong. God. I didn't have any other pants with me so I had no choice. Sending it to the hotel laundrette was going to be costly so I might as well do it myself. By the time I was almost done, Hannah came back up to the room and she showered first. After she was done it was my turn and since we had two more hours before checkout, I decided to take my own sweet time and have a bubble bath in the tub. It's been a while since I did that I forgot how nice and relaxing it is to just sit down in lukewarm water with bubbles all around you.

Got ready, checked out from the hotel and the whole family drove to Bangsar for lunch at Mahbub. Their specialty ; nasi briyani ayam madu is freaking delicious. If you haven't tried it you definitely should. My mum and step dad also joined us there and after finished eating we all parted ways. Always so sad to say goodbye to my cousins. I miss them already :(

I haven't been doing anything much besides sleep these past two days because the wedding really tired me out for some reason. It's back to classes tomorrow and panicking over projects and assignments. But what I am looking forward to ; is a brand new episode of Suits !! #SuitsReturns. Season 4 stopped at episode 10 somewhere last year, and episode 11 came out last week and I just watched it just now. Can't wait to see what happens in episode 12.

Hope everyone had a good weekend + holiday (Hari Wilayah + Thaipusam), because I did. I can't wait for the next family gatherings. And I can't wait to see who the next person will be to get married in my group of cousins !! I personally can't wait to get married myself but y'know, no rush. I gotta chill haha. It'll happen if Allah wills it, InsyaAllah.

    1. I wear like a lot of people do ! Shorter on one side, longer on the other, pin it under my chin, tuck in the shorter one in my baju and wrap the longer one around my head and pin on each side. If i'm not happy with the length I'll adjust so the shorter side becomes longer :)

    1. Hiii ! I wear chiffon shawls mostly and I buy all of them from @jetaimeshawls on Instagram. The satin one I wore at my cousin's wedding is also from jetaimeshawls :) Oh and TudungPeople has really nice shawls tooo but they're ALWAYS sold out online, so frustrating. I have the Numa Luxe in Black from TudungPeople and I love it, so if you want really good quality chiffon go to TudungPeople :)

    1. Hi ! Oh the one I'm wearing in this blogpost I had it custom made. My whole family got the same kain so it was up to us to choose our desgins. And my baju during my mum's reception was from Jovian. But if you wanna look for ready made, I think websites like fashionvalet or zalora have nice ones, you have to really look. You're welcome !

    1. No problem, the price range in the boutique is around 400 onwards but if you get it from Zalora it's cheaper since they're always having cut downs on the prices. Mine is this one ; http://www.zalora.com.my/Coco-Giulliana-Maxi-Dress-212203.html and it was 450 when I got it.

    1. The tailor I went to was in Amapang Park. I don't remember the name but it's on the first floor, towards the right side on Dunkin Donuts. Chinese lady in a little shop.

So my grandma looks extremely jepun, people think she's the one but no she's just half Japanese and somehow my cousins and I managed to inherit Japanese features through the gene pool haha.
