Favourites : January

We're done with January ! I decided to make a favourites post about the things I've been loving throughout this wonderful month and hopefully I'll keep doing these for the rest of the year in 2015. January was really good to me so I'll take it as a heads up that the rest of the year will be just as good. Amin.

Beauty

1. Simple Kind To Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

I am the type of person who changes her cleanser every time a bottle finishes. So after finishing the Clean n Clear Fruit Essentials (didn't like it, except for the yummy smell), I decided to try out this cleanser from Simple and I looooove it. It's exactly that ; simple. You can tell that there aren't harsh chemicals or unnecessary scents or colouring in this so it has been making my skin behave really, really well and my face feels a lot healthier too.

Oh and quick shoutout to their cleansing facial wipes too ! I wore make up quite frequently this month, and at the end of the day when I just want to wipe my whole face clean and make up free, this is what I use. I double cleanse, so after I use the wipe I usually go and clean my face with the cleanser after that.

2. Victoria's Secret Coconut Passion Fragrance Mist

Guys, I think if I were ever to reincarnate into a VS Body Mist, this would be me (but maybe I'd change my colour to be turquoise instead of orange, but okay yknow what that's besides the point). Let me just type out VS's description of the scent ;

"A seductive, warm fragrance. Seduce with Coconut Passion, a rendezvous of rich vanilla and warm coconut. Experience the luxury of fragrance. Refreshing formula is infused with conditioning aloe vera and calming chamomile. Spray on for a sexy touch of scent."

I just freaking love the scent. If you know me you'd know that my favourite, favourite scent in the entire world is Vanilla. And if you go in The Body Shop and have a whiff of their vanilla perfumes or body sprays, you're practically smelling me in the bottle. So when I found this VS mist, I got scared when I read 'coconut', like ew how the heck is that going to smell together with vanilla. But God it's just saaaaaaahh good. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it sure as hell is mine. I usually spray that on my body everyday, and after I put on clothes, I top it off with The Body Shop one. Walking vanilla-coconut-smelling-goodness = *points at myself*

3. Vaseline

For some reason I've had a lot of days where I wake up with my lips being disgustingly chapped and painful. You know when it's cracked and you peel it off and it hurts like a mother-f. Yeah, well my solution to that was to swipe on a layer of Vaseline on my lips in the morning and at night before I sleep. I wake up from sleep with soft(er) lips now !

Music

1. Sugar by Maroon 5

This has been my feel good song for the past month. I love the music video, I love how upbeat the song is, I love Adam Levine. It's been a while since I've 'loved' a Maroon 5, I'm a bigger fan of their older songs from the Sunday Morning - She Will Be Loved era but Sugar is just A+. If i'm stuck in a jam, and I'm singing and dancing in my car, this would most likely be the song playing. It's what gets me pumped up in the morning. Especially in the daily traffic jam that I have to go through to get to campus.

2. Bil Musa

So I've been following this girl on Instagram for a while now and have always thought her covers are amazing, and recently she launched her EP on iTunes and Spotify and it's so good ! Her voice is amazing. And if you're a fan of Yuna, you'll definitely love her. My personal favourites from her EP are : Leave It All, French The Beach and I Would Die.

Oh and also worth mentioning are ; The Impatient Sisters. Also Malaysians. They are a trio, and their self-titled album is really good too. So last words from me about all of this  ;  you betcha' Malaysia Boleh.

Fashion

I am currently obsessed with the idea of travelling to New York City in Autumn. So with that said, I have also been obsessing over autumnal street fashion. Sigh. I could just picture myself in all of these outfits (+ tudung of course hahaha). Coats and neutral colours, oh so effortlessly chic. The looks that I have found (and countless of times imagined myself in them walking along the streets of New York are) ;

I wish I had more favourites this month, but I think that was basically it for January.
Until the next one. x

    1. Hii ! Thank you so much !! I got those shoes from a random shoe shop in Ampang Park. The place looks kind of dodgy but if you look really hard, you can find some pretty amazing (& affordable) stuff haha. My shoes were around 50 ringgit if I'm not mistaken, super reasonable price in my opinion.

  5. Hello Izza.
    You always change your facial wash right? And may I know are you using a complete set of one product or just the facial wash? Like are you using the toner and moisturiser as well? I'm still in the process of try and error and I haven't found the best skincare for me. Any suggestion? I've met you face to face before and your skin is my goal, yes definitely! I hope you can share your beauty secret as well hehe thank you Izza! ❤

    1. Hi ! Yup I always do and noo, I never use a complete set of anything. Everything I use come from different brands, but I think it should be better to use everything from the same skin care brand. I'm just too lazy for that. I see, I am really loving Simple though and right now I'm in the midst of trying another facial wash by them. What are you currently using ? :) Haha really ?? My face isn't flawless enough to be anyone's skin goals though but thank you !! I don't have any beauty secrets that I keep, I don't even eat healthy or drink enough water.. haha. One thing I never forget to do is use something with SPF when I go out, oh and to make sure I wash my face in the morning and when I get home / before I sleep. Never more than twice a day :)
