3.8

First week of Semester 2 and *drumrolls* I made it on the Dean's List for my Semester 1 results !

I got my results on Tuesday, and it was nerve-wracking checking my results through my phone on the Student's Portal. I was relieved to get my GPA above 3.5 but a part of me was gutted that I didn't manage to get 4 flat. It felt like my SPM results all over again, expecting this but getting that. My mum, Irfan and my best friends were really, really happy for me though, and a 3.8 GPA + getting on the Dean's List is something I should be extremely proud of already. Irfan was right (when is he not ?), I shouldn't be whining that I didn't get the results I wanted. Irfan knew how hard I studied for finals because he was always with me on Skype while I did my revision late at night.

Hard work pays off but all knowledge comes from Him. Alhamdulillah for my results, I couldn't be any more grateful. I'm taking my semester 1 results as motivation to either maintain or do better for this semester. 3.8 for this sem seems tough (or more like impossible) for me though cause I have accounts and QT. *cries*

Classes have been.. okay. I really like my Human Capital Management (HCM) class, the class isn't crowded and the lecturer is pretty laid back. He's straightforward and the examples he gives are easy to understand. Slightly annoyed with my Organisational Behaviour (OB) class,  found ourselves googling "How to Stay Awake In Class" during Quantitive Techniques (QT) and Elementary Accounting is fine (so far). I like always having a calculator in my bag though, it makes me feel smarter somehow hahaha. Another thing I really like about uni now is the fact that my best friend Aina is also there, she was with me on Tuesday while I was waiting for my number to be called at the Accounts Dep. and it was really nice having her around. I'm just so happy that she's in MSU.

Tomorrow's another day, and I have an eye check appointment at MSU's optometry after my first class. Mama gave me her frames that she doesn't use anymore and she told me check my eyes and change the lens so I can use them. I used to wear glasses for reading, but lately I haven't been doing that and I've been on the computer a lot, like a lot a lot so I'm pretty sure it's affected my eyesight somehow.

I'm probably going to follow mama to KL on Friday so I could do a little bit of retail therapy as a treat to myself. I have a few things I've been eyeing on, we'll see if I actually get them. And then I'm also planning to see Irfan this weekend because I've been missing him like crazy. We're not in the same uni, so obviously we don't see each other much so that's something to look forward to too.

    1. Hi Mariah ! Well I usually try and understand what my lecturers are teaching during class, but I get only around 30% of what he/she is teaching by the end of it due to the class conditions (noise, me talking to my friends and cracking jokes). I do most of my studying alone at home, and when exams are near, alone in the library. I cannot study with my friends, it's the worst idea ever because I'd just be laughing.

What I do when I study by myself is I read my notes (doesn't matter if they're printed or on the computer), and while I read I write down points and important things to remember on sheets of test pad papers. I make it as simple and easy to understand as possible. I also use a lot of acronyms to memorise. Highlighters also become my best friends when I study, I highlight a lot in my notes (the colours make my notes less dull). I make use of what my lecturers emphasise on, because that's what usually comes out. And I also do past year papers (objective questions especially) a lot. I do probably 80% of my studying at night until the wee hours of the morning cause I find that I concentrate best when it's dark outside, or I usually study until about midnight and wake up around 4AM to study until subuh (6AM) and either get ready for class straight or go back to sleep. That's basically how I study haha. Just find out what suits you, I think every individual's study style is different one way or another. What works for me might not necessarily work best for you, so just try experimenting different ways to study until you get it. Good luck with your studies xx

    1. I don't study everyday, but at the end of the week I usually go through what I've learnt that week. Nothing too extreme, I just go over my notes and if I'm not too lazy I'll rewrite them nicely with coloured pens in my notebook haha. x

    2. Hi izza, basically human capital management is the latest name for human resource management. Nowadays, human resource also known as human talent management. I knew it from my lecturer. Happy study izza! :)
